Cardinal Nation is a mind set rather than a physical location or area on a map. It is the concept that spreads all over the globe as a result of it's subjects being exposed to baseball and a rich tradition at an early age. It's the stories from times past and present of from families in Arkansas listening to the games on the front porch on KMOX radio or families traveling over the blue highways of Missouri, Iowa, and Illinois listening to the game as they drive. In the 50's it was gathering in front of the black and white tv or at the corner bar that offered the visual radio couldn't. Today it's gatherings at a friends house or any sports bar in town to catch the game on a big screen or catching a glimpse on the computer throughout the day. This rich history has brought us such rivaled competition of names like Mantle, Ruth, Gehrig, Robinson, Mays, and Williams. Names only to be quelled by those of Musial, Marion, Gibson, Brock, and Smith. Today it's Molina, Carpenter, Wainwright, Holliday, and Berkman. No matter the names, Cardinal Nation always supports their team and the fanfare this rich organization has provided from decades past and decades to come. This organization was founded 130 years ago this year. The Tradition Continues....
This season we will bring more of the local minor league teams into focus. We will feature the Gateway Grizzlies, The SI Miners, and the River City Rascals.
